Are there people who take alternative treatments who also use the same health approach with their pets.?
That is, you might not have your pets receive vaccines or medications from vets if in your own situation you will not undergo such treatments yourself from regular doctors ?
Tink - In most places its the law ( for vaccination of pets, including solely indoor ones ), really ? Is most places referring to the general area you live in, because its not “the law” here in Canada to my knowledge. Its also not “the law” yet for all people to be vaccinated against regular flu swine flu, HPV, etc, though that could change.

There is a HUGE alternative medicine world in veterinary medicine. So, I guess the answer to your question is YES.
Best wishes and good luck.
In most places its the law to have your animal vaccinated, or you face stiff fines, and having your pet removed (and vaccinated)….
However, plenty of people give their family critters glucosamine, omega-3’s etc.
I give my dog both - His food provides glucosamine, omega-3’s and he gets some additional glucosamine biscuits - and he takes a presciption medication….if I only gave him one or the other it wouldn’t be enough, but the pair seem to keep him a happy ball chaser
I am not a big fan of medication in general - but once I looked at the x-rays I knew that if we didn’t try it, he would have to be put down - and so help me, I have never been so impressed. He went from unable to walk to jumping up to my face in 72 hours….which I’m real happy about…the combination keeps him active and pain-free, which makes us both happy.
Also - when this happened I asked some folks to do some reiki on him….if they happen to see this, I would just like to say thanks again.

You darn tooten!
absolutly
Absolutely. There are many, many alternative and holistic groups for pet owners and a growing number of holistic vets as well. As a matter of fact, my partner is the owner of a Yahoo forum about natural health for pets (oleandersoup_for_pets). Some people are very concerned about such tidbits as the fact that every year over 140,000 cats are reported to develop cancers at the site of their vaccination injections.
On the other hand, it never ceases to amaze me to find that people who are otherwise fairly health conscious and have a deep emotional investment in their pets, have them in yards that are treated with pesticides and herbicides, leave puddles of antifreeze overflow under their cars, pour their drinking water from a PVC hose, feed them table scraps and cheap dog food which contains all kinds of fillers (and in some instances contaminants such as melamine from China).
